Can Magnesium Chloride Oil really penetrate the skin?

A direct quote from: The Department of Dermatology, University of Kiel, Kiel, Germany,
"Magnesium salts, the prevalent minerals in Dead Sea water, are known to exhibit favourable effects in inflammatory diseases. We examined the efficacy of bathing atopic subjects in a salt rich in magnesium chloride from deep layers of the Dead Sea.
Volunteers with atopic dry skin submerged one forearm for 15 mins in a bath solution containing 5% Dead Sea salt. The second arm was submerged in tap water as control. Before the study and at weeks 1 to 6, transepidermal water loss (TEWL), skin hydration, skin roughness, and skin redness were determined. We found one subgroup with a normal and one subgroup with an elevated TEWL before the study. Bathing in the Dead Sea salt solution significantly improved skin barrier function compared with the tap water-treated control forearm in the subgroup with elevated basal TEWL. Skin hydration was enhanced on the forearm treated with the Dead Sea salt in each group, which means the treatment moisturized the skin. Skin roughness and redness of the skin as a marker for inflammation were significantly reduced after bathing in the salt solution. This demonstrates that bathing in the salt solution was well tolerated, improved skin barrier function, enhanced stratum corneum hydration, and reduced skin roughness and inflammation. We suggest that the favourable effects of bathing in the Dead Sea salt solution are most likely related to the high magnesium content. Magnesium salts are known to bind water, influence epidermal proliferation and differentiation, and enhance permeability barrier repair."

Iodine

Iodine is associated with a wide range of benefits, such as supporting and enhancing thyroid function and managing metabolism, increasing energy levels (when there is a lack of iodine), supporting and improving detoxification systems and processes, reinforcing immune system function, fighting infections (as a natural antiseptic), and many other healthy benefits. Owing to its antiseptic attributes, it also can be effectively used in purifying water for safe consumption. Due to the fact that iodine facilitates and is required for thyroid function, the intake of sufficient amounts of iodine assists the body in generating substantial levels of energy for metabolic processes. Aside from its critical role in supporting metabolism and thyroid health, iodine is needed by the entire body to support overall health and healing.Iodine has been shown to help protect people from radiation fallout. D-Ribose

D-Ribose is a simple 5 carbon sugar that the body can readily convert to Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) the universal fuel for cellular energy. D-Ribose has been mentioned on numerous occasions in association with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia here for example, likewise for Congestive Heart Problems here (Academic.)

Acetyl L Carnitine (ALCAR)

Acetyl L Carnitine may be of some benefit with regard to Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia, especially if taken in combination with D-Ribose and CoQ10. Please see here  Also a very similar supplement L Carnitine has possible benefits with regard to heart health please see here.

Joint Health

A combination of supplements is definately advantageous when it comes to aiding joint health. One common denominator for collagen production is Vitamin C and should be considered when taking MSM, Glucosamine Sulphate, Chondroitin and L-Proline but not in conjunction with Hyaluronic Acid.

L - Lysine

L - Lysine is one of eight essential amino acids - building blocks of protein - that the body cannot manufacture on its own and may benefit the body in the following ways:
L-Lysine natural help for shingles. Shingles lesions are painful due to reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus. L-Lysine appears to help treat the eruption of shingles as well as helping to reduce the severity of herpes-related cold sores. L-Lysine inhibits the herpes virus. It prevents and relieves cold sores around genital areas, which are type 2 herpes as well as helping type 1 herpes. L-Lysine is also necessary for collagen synthesis and has a role to play in healthy skin, ligaments, and tendons. Finally, L - Lysine is an essential part of the Pauling Therapy and anyone with Angina or Arteriosclerosis or wishing to help avoid these conditions is stongly advised to find out more about the Pauling Therapy.

L - Ascorbic Acid (Vit C)

L - Proline

Apart from when it is used in the Pauling TherapyProline is a non-essential amino acid and a main component of collagen just like Lysine. Collagen, a major structural component of cells and animals, is the protein responsible in forming connective fibers in tissues such as skin, ligaments, cartilage, bones and teeth. Collagen also functions somewhat like an intracellular "glue" that provides support, shape and bulk to blood vessels, bones, and organs such as the heart, kidneys and liver. Collagen fibers keep bones and blood vessels strong, and assist in anchoring our teeth to our gums. Collagen is also needed for the repair of blood vessels, bruises, and broken bones. Since Proline is necessary to make collagen, Proline helps strengthen cardiac muscle, improves skin texture, and reduces the loss of collagen through the aging process.

Proline along with the amino acid lysine and Vitamin C is essential for the formation of healthy collagen and cartilage. It maintains the flexibility of both muscles and joints, and helps reduce sagging and wrinkling that accompany UV exposure and normal aging of the skin. Proline is also beneficial in the formation of bone, skin and cartilage and it is of paramount importance for the proper functioning of joints and tendons. It also helps maintain and strengthen heart muscles and is helpful in tissue repair after injury, or for any type of wound healing. Proline also participates in energy production.

Proline assists in the body's task of breaking down proteins for use in creating healthy cells. It is absolutely necessary to the development and maintenance of healthy skin and connective tissues, especially at the site of traumatic tissue injury. Proline and lysine are both required to make hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine, two amino acids that form collagen. Collagen helps to heal cartilage and to bolster the joints and vertebrae. For this reason, proline supplementation may prove helpful in treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, persistent soft tissue strains, and chronic back pain.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

Improved energy production is of particular importance not just to athletes and bodybuilders but for anyone who lives either an active or sedentary lifestyle. Coenzyme Q10 increases energy, strengthens the immune system, and provides the benefits of an antioxidant. It functions as a coenzyme for numerous key enzymatic steps in the energy production within the cell. CoQ10 is used by the body to convert food into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which in turn is used by the body as its primary energy source. Coenzyme Q10 supplements, whether as a stand alone or in conjunction with other products, can be particularly effective in the treatment of several health problems, including cardiac conditions and diseases, breast cancer, diabetes mellitus, immune deficiency, muscular dystrophy, and periodontal disease. CoQ10 may lower blood pressure, while helping inhibit cholesterol from becoming harmful (oxidizing) in the body and forming plaques in the arteries (atherosclerosis). Organic Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil benefits the heart and much more. The unrefined hemp oil, which comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, is green in color and has a nutty taste. It has anywhere from 30 to 35% oil per weight, which equals about 80% fatty acids, and is a very high quality resource for getting those essential fatty acids that everyone needs in their regular diet. Hemp oil is proven to have around 80% polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are considered to be the fats that are good for our bodies, and yet our bodies do not produce these acids; they have to be taken into the body through a person's diet. It contains substantial amounts of Omega 3 and Omega 6, which are necessary in producing fatty acids. It also contains high amounts of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, in the form of alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocopherol and alpha tocotrienol, as well as vitamin A, chlorophyll, phosphorus, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, as well as vitamin D. Hemp seed oil helps to block and reduce the possibility of having an upset stomach and in preventing gas pockets. It doesn't have the inhibitors that cause upset stomachs as is the case with soy protein. People that have taken hemp oil on a regular basis have been found to have more healthy skin and a strong immune system. Because of the high content of Omega 3 and Omega 6, hemp is a large contributor in preventing heart trouble, and also lowering the cholesterol level. It helps in the treatment of cancer, such as prostate, colon or breast cancers. It is proven to reduce dementia (Alzheimer's), as well as the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The high content of vitamin D helps in treating and in preventing osteoporosis, inflammation, eczema and psoriasis. Hemp is needed in very high quantities to promote healthy growth in children. Proper enzyme formations come from the sulfur containing amino acids that are produced from hemp seeds.

Calcium Bentonite

Removes Toxins

Bentonite clay has a strong negative charge, making it capable of chemically adhering to positively charged substances, including bacteria, metals, certain toxins and metabolic waste products, according to Ran Knishinsky, author of "The Clay Cure: Natural Healing from the Earth." As the clay makes its way through the digestive tract, it picks up and carries off harmful substances. The clay is not digested and does not enter the bloodstream, rather it remains in the intestinal tract and is eliminated in the stool. In this way, the contents of the bowel are cleansed of internal waste and the body is protected from added toxic burden by the action of the bentonite clay preventing absorption of environmental toxins entering through food sources. Because of it absorptive properties, bentonite clay should be taken at least two hours apart from nutritional supplements or medications, says the website GlobalHealingCenter.com.

Heal Diabetic Ulcers and Pressure Sores

A paste or poultice of bentonite clay applied to the area of a diabetic ulcer or pressure sore in a bedridden patient can speed the healing process and prevent infection, says the website AboutClay.com. The clay can also be sprinkled directly over the wound and repeated several times throughout the day. Clay's drying properties draw impurities and waste products away from the injured area to help cleanse it, while bringing in fresh circulation and oxygen to assist healing. Keeping the skin intact is a major challenge for diabetics, who are more prone to developing skin infections, which ultimately may lead to the necessity of amputations, if not successfully controlled. Bentonite clay offers a safe and natural option for these individuals.
